Bonnie Hunt (born September 22, 1961) is known as an American actress and comedian. She has played roles in films such as Rain Man, Beethoven, Beethoven's 2nd, Jumanji, Jerry Maguire, The Green Mile, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. In animation, Hunt has voiced characters in A Bug's Life, Zootopia, and the Monsters, Inc., Cars, and Toy Story series. She was a leading actress in Grand and Davis Rules, and wrote, produced, and acted in The Building, Bonnie, and Life with Bonnie. She was the host of The Bonnie Hunt Show from 2008 to 2010. Early life Bonnie Lee Hunt was born on September 22, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to Robert Edward Hunt (1927-1981), an electrician, and Alice E. Hunt (née Jatczak) (1925-2021). Her father was of Irish and Belgian ancestry, and her mother is of Polish heritage. Her siblings include three older brothers: Patrick, Kevin, and Tom, as well as two older sisters, Cathy and Carol, and a younger sister, Mary. She attended Catholic schools, including Saint Ferdinand School and Notre Dame High School for Girls in Chicago, working part-time as a nurse's aide. She started working as an oncology nurse in 1982 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. In 1984, she co-founded an improvisational comedy troupe called An Impulsive Thing. Hunt also was part of Chicago's world-famous Second City, starting in 1986. She auditioned for the part of waitress Sally Dibbs in Rain Man in 1988 while still a nurse, ultimately winning the role.
